Viberg Mushroom Chamois Roughout 145 Oxford - Rugged Meets Refined

We teamed up with @nathanchung once more to bring about another video for our second pair coming out of Victoria B.C. – the Viberg Mushroom Chamois Roughout 145 Oxford. Product photos and descriptions can only tell so much. As primarily an online retailer, we do our best in communicating the details in each piece we sell through those product pages. However, when we can, we try to tell the story of a product through video. Here is our second video featuring our second Viberg for Withered Fig exclusive.

The Mushroom Chamois RO leather comes across as refined from afar, but with a hint of ruggedness up-close. The Dr. Sole full raw cord sole allows for some extreme stomping across various terrains, which the video showcases. Admittedly, this probably would not be my first choice for a hike (an oxford), but we wanted to show that the outsole is no joke. Given the hefty sole, these do take a while to break-in, so go easy; after all, you’ve got many years to go in these.

As you wear in the 145 Oxford, you’ll see the mushroom chamois roughout leather start to evolve. Starting quite consistent in visual appearance, over time as they get roughed up, the nap will naturally start to raise from the agitations of daily life, resulting in a much more varied look in both color and texture. Of course, the brown oil tan leather tongue will patina like crazy as seen on our first Viberg for Withered Fig – the Aged Bark Roughout ‘Marvington’ Service Boot (9 month review). All said, we think the mushroom chamois roughout leather was the perfect pairing with the raw cord sole for a rugged and durable leather oxford, while maintaining the refined aesthetic you’ll want when your neighbors see you shoveling that feet of snow in your driveway.

We are currently accepting pre-orders for this make-up through Feb 1, 2019 (Noon EST). Please email us at contact@witheredfig.com for details.
